Residing in the suburbs of Minnesota, Yang is an active member of the community and a volunteer for organizations such as American Foundation for Suicide Prevention with a passion in diversity and innovation. She also volunteered for The Scout Guide, competed in the Miss Minnesota USA 2018 competition, and interned for Eat.Drink.Dish. At age 27, Yang has a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Not only is she passionate about diversity and innovation, but she is an aspiring fashion and lifestyle influencer with over 4 years of experience in fashion retail as a stylist. She describes her sense of style as "high-end inspired streetwear," where everything she wears can be paired with both heels and sneakers.
